My BackgroundI have wide-ranging experience to help you meet your goals, coupled with exceptional academic preparation. My work helping people began over twenty-five years ago, assisting mothers and their children with developmental delays. Since that time I have been employed in a variety of healing positions including: family and individual therapist, crisis counselor, school and preschool therapist, cardiac rehabilitation specialist, teacher, court-appointed guardian, and caregiver. Shame, fear, and money often keep people from therapy. I provide caring, thoughtful, confidential therapy with payment options. I am a registered counselor with the state of Washington and fulfill the state's requirements as a child mental health specialist. I am affiliated with CounselingSeattle.com. I was certified as a crisis counselor at the Willamette School of Human Services and have completed certificate training in Emotionally Focused Therapy. As an undergraduate I majored in psychology at the University of Oregon and human services at Monroe community college, and I hold a BFA from Cornish College of the Arts. I have an MA in clinical psychology with a specialization in couples and family therapy from Antioch University with additional doctoral level coursework in child development and psychopathology from the Washington School of Professional Psychology. I also have an interdisciplinary MA from the State University of New York, where I researched mental imagery, neuromuscular reintegration, and kinesiology. |
